Top Reads from the Top Half of 2018

Source: Audies

Every single year, I struggle bus my way through an end of year post about the best books I read that year. Or I just skip the post entirely, even though I love seeing other people’s, and I also really like the opportunity to yell more about my favorite books. Still, going back through hundreds of books, some of which you read hundreds of books ago and scarcely recall, is difficult and, for me, stressful. In an effort to help myself and also yell about some great books, I’m doing a mid-year best of post that I can mine shamelessly come 2019.

Also, as per usual, I am totally going to cheat and do a frontlist title and a backlist title for each category if I have enough that apply. Can’t stop won’t stop.

  1. I have so many books I need to read! Mask of Shadows, Retribution Rails, OBSIDIO!! I loved Sofia Khan and The Kiss Quotient too, and I’m glad you loved The Disasters because it sounds like such a cool premise.

YAY! I’m so glad you loved both Sofia Khan and The Kiss Quotient. I need more books like this in my life, and I’m about to run out of Christina Lauren lol.

The Disasters was suuuuper fun. I’m hoping it does well and we get more sci fi like that.

Let’s see … which of the (1) books I read so far this year was the best? THE HAZEL WOOD.

To be fair, I started a ton of books, but that was the only one I finished. And I loved it!

Hahaha, you should probably finish just one more book so it doesn’t sound like The Hazel Wood wins by default. 😉

  3. Sofia Khan Is Not Obliged wasn’t even on my radar for some reason. I really need to get my hands on Kiss Quotient and it’s been TOO long since I’ve read any Milan. Too long. Must fix this.

I recently finished The Kiss Quotient. Weird, fun, charming; it deserves all the hype! I’m so happy because it’s been a while since I got this attached to a romance. I hope to check out every book in this list someday. In the meantime, I’m giving my attention to The Voiceless Voice by Alexandra Casavant. Taking a break from romantic stories, I’m ready to dive into the worlds shaped by voices and to reflect on my own.
