September 2016: Month in Review

What I’ve Been Up To:
Blogging:
After managing to be ahead of my ARCs for a while, I’ve finally fallen under the mass of September ARCs. I hope to catch back up in November, but we’ll see. A bit disheartening that.
Here are the book haul photo (can you tell I’ve been slacking at Bookstagram?):
Shenanigans:
Well, I’ve officially entered the last year of my 20s, and I’m totally not freaking out about that at all.
Um, mostly September was pretty low key, an attempt to mentally recover from buying a new car. I did get some new shoes this weekend though, because Kenneth Cole is closing down their retail stores to become an etailer only, so their shit was on sale.
Movies & TV:
Watched the debate, which was both wonderful and terrible. I super don’t understand those people who don’t think Hillary is likable, because omfg she looked like she was having the best time ever, and she slayed up there.
I finished my That 70s Show binge, and man did the last season of that show totally blow. I’m glad I watched the show because, as a whole, it was so much better than anticipated but yiiiiiikes. Ship level: MEGA FRUSTRATE.
Boyfriend and I watched Stranger Things, and we actually both enjoyed it (never a given). It did scare me, but the plot was super intriguing and I adore Eleven. Ship level: they’re all babies so yeah no.
Now I’m watching season 1 of Crazy Ex-Girlfriend, which I also like more than I expected. (September was apparently the month of trying shows I didn’t think I’d be into. While I thought I’d love the musical numbers, it’s actually just the main character and the show’s diversity that I love. Okay, I also love the ship but the premise makes that a case of slow burn to a painful degree. Ship level: I’m burning slowly.

DNFs:
It was a weird month for DNFs, because a whole lot of these were books I legitimately felt confident I’d love. But alas, life doesn’t turn out like you expect it to.
I also did not like The Female of Species and I was starting to think it was just me, because I’ve seen many glowing reviews. I was so ready to love it, like her previous books, but nope. Not for me.
