July 2016: Month in Review

What I’ve Been Up To:

For once, I’ve hit a real stride with book blogging. I don’t think I’ve been scheduled so far ahead for so long in a couple of years. The reason I’ve managed to accomplish this is that I’m reading more than I have in ages. Taking almost a month off reading during the Asia trip and the time leading up to it really reinvigorated my love of it. I read 34 books in July. So yeah.

I also have been trying to get into Instagram. And also to better at it. Here are the book haul photos I posted in July.

Sorry about that inundation, but I’m trying to do justice to my ALA books. I’m VERY happy with how some of these bookstagrams turned out. Not so much for others, but oh well.

July was a sad month because my boyfriend, Sung, had to put down Weezy. We all miss Weezy (well, Lucky doesn’t). He was the sweetest cat, funny, loving, and constantly-purring. He’d been unhealthy since Sung got him from the shelter, and there was nothing we could do for him but spare him pain. I comfort myself with the fact that he loved his short life.

You’ll be missed, sweet prince.

July’s music is mostly finds from Spotify’s Discover Weekly playlist. They’ve been on point lately. Especially last week’s which I forgot to copy anywhere and have now lost entirely. *weeps*

Movies & TV:

Like a boss, I binged seasons 2-6 of The Great British Bake Off. I have no other thoughts right now. I’m not sure what to do now that I have none left.

I read Arcadia because I needed a long book to read. I’m curious why you DNF it.

  2. -34 BOOKS!
    -Those bookstagrams are beeeeautiful!
-WHY has Spotify not made our Discover Weekly playlists something we can access permanently?
-GBBO is an obsesson. Like, I literally love everything about it. I need more!

  5. That’s so great about being ahead in blogging!! Must feel good 🙂 Yeah sometimes I need reading breaks too to remind myself of why I love it so much. Your bookstagram pictures are great! Mine are never terribly creative but what can you do haha. So sorry about Weezy, that’s hard… but like you said, there’s comfort in knowing you guys gave him such a happy life. GBBO IS THE BEST I don’t know what to do with myself either!! Hunt for the elusive season 3 I guess… I don’t know what sort of baking magic that show uses but your gif captures it perfectly.
