I’m going to keep this one short and simple, since I have reviews explaining why these books are so special. 😀

Paranormal

The Dark Days Club - Alison Goodman
These Vicious Masks - Tarun Shanker & Kelly Zekas

Shallow Graves - Kali Wallace

Paranormal has been such a surprise hit with me in 2016. Both historical and contemporary, the ones I’ve read have been amazing! Maybe this genre has finally overcome its time as a fad.

Contemporary

Girl Against the Universe - Paula Stokes
Wanderlost - Jen Malone

Out on Good Behavior - Dahlia Adler
Shuffle, Repeat - Jen Klein

It’s been such a good year for fluff so far. Look at all these, shippy, happy-making books! If you’re into that, do not miss these!

Mystery

The Long Game (Fixer #2) - Jennifer Lynn Barnes

The Long Game by Jennifer Lynn Barnes

Considering that mystery really isn’t my genre, having even one make the list is super impressive tbh. LOVE THIS SERIES SO HARD. If you haven’t read The Fixer yet, let JLB ruin you.

Fantasy

The Raven King (The Raven Cycle #4) - Maggie Stiefvater

Though the conclusion left me with some minor qualms, I also loved it to pieces. I’m so not ready to say goodbye to this world or these characters.

Science Fiction

 Rise (Newsflesh) - Mira Grant

Rise: A Newsflesh Collection by Mira Grant

Speaking of not being ready to say goodbye, I’ve already said goodbye to Newsflesh once. It was wonderful to get Rise and have a chance to see these old friends again. But it hurts saying goodbye once more. If you don’t know what Newsflesh is, READ FEED. Seriously, I don’t care if you don’t like zombies or politics; I’ve forced it on people with strong opinions on both, and they loved it. So.

Have you read any of these? Will you?

  3. I haven’t made it to The Fixer series yet, but I know it’s going to be great because that is where JLB shines! Glad to see the sequel made your list this week 🙂

I can’t believe I still haven’t The Dark Days Club and These Vicious Masks after all the shouting you and Gilly did about them. I am a failure.

LOVED Rocks Fall, Everyone Dies so much.

And obviously The Raven King and The Long Game are also on my list because those freaking books. I will never recover.

I really need to snag Girl Against the Universe soon. I’ve only heard good things.

  7. I haven’t read any of these yet! The first half of 2016 was a really bad time for me, and I just didn’t feel or have the time to read. I can’t wait to read The Raven King, but I can’t decide whether I want to reread TRC 1-3 first or read TRK then go back and reread them.
