October 2014: Month in Review

What I’ve Been Up To:

Blogging: Let’s see. This month I took my first ever official, planned blogging break, due to unpleasantness in the book blogging world and also decided that I’ll be reading more stuff that’s not for review. This has been a pretty big change for me, and so far I’m very happy with the results.

Shenanigans: I went to Pigeon Forge to meet up with Lenore Appelhans. That is one of the most ridiculous places I’ve ever been to, but I had a great time because Lenore and I always have tons of fun being silly. Seeing her two months in a row was fabulous and I’m sad that that’s over now.

Television: Due to the blogging break, I finished some television series for the first time in months. I’ve been getting back into television more.

The Greatest Love really wasn’t all that great, but my interest in the made ship kept me going. There are some P&P elements to the ship sometimes, so I couldn’t help but have some feels about this. At the same time, I don’t recommend this drama very highly. Oh, and the wardrobe for the heroine is just the worst. Ship level: middling.

Finally completed my Gilmore Girls rewatch, though it would have been wiser to listen to people and stop after season five. Season seven honestly had like two good moments, which is incredibly sad since the early seasons had some of the best writing ever. Ship level: highly frustrating; prepare headcanons.

Everyone recommended My Love from Another Star and I now know why. It was an amazing, feels-full kdrama, though I have to admit I wasn’t a huge fan of the ending. I don’t think they resolved things in a logical way, but whatever. The whole show’s ridiculous but so absorbing that boyfriend got sucked in too, despite his unwillingness. Mwahaha. Make sure you watch all the way to the end, because the humorous bits that conclude each episode are the BEST.  Ship level: HIGH.

it’s always good to take a break from review books! while i haven’t been able to stop reading review books, i dropped the percentage to at least 70% (3 non review books a month! at least). I tried watching Greatest Love and while I love Gong Hyo Jin, i’m not a fan of the actor. You should watch It’s Okay It’s Love or Marriage Without Dating 🙂 I’m currently watching Liar Game and LOVING it! I stopped on episode 19 of you who came form the stars… i don’t know why but i can’t be bothered to watch the last three episodes. I love Gilmore Girls <3

You know that all K-Dramas you recommend immediately go in my to watch pile right? (I’m not gonna lie though – the dude in The Greatest Love is hot + any P&P like reference is enough to sway me to watch it anyway).
