On My New Arrivals Shelf (80)

Ugh, sorry about the crappy quality of the video, but it’s this or nothing. Hopefully this is better than nothing. Though it’s kind of like watching Singin’ in the Rain, because the audio and video are not synced. I think I’m going back to not doing book haul videos until I get a better webcam. *sighs heavily* Oh, also, I know this haul seems massive, but this is actually three weeks of books, so it’s not as out of control as you might think. Only slightly out of control. :-p Also, I love my blogger friends.

Oh wow, the white screens are really pretty. I’m so jealous of all your gorgeously covered egalleys now that I’ve seen them in the virtual reality. Not. Okay, I am jealous of Far From You. The sheer number of them is going to royally screw up your system, though.

“I’m hoping that I’m in Ellis.” Please finish that sentence because I will not stand for it. Ashleigh liked it, too, so you’re in vair good company.

Oh well, destroy the pretty wrapping paper, why don’t you? Hahahaha, Bekka is my idol. Be haunted by baby-filled nightmares!

    MEEEERRRRYYYYY CHRISTMAAAAAAAAAS.

AAAAH THE BOOKMARK!! I’d noticed that too, that it was designed by a Christina, and yes CREEEEEPY. Ooh, Percy, he comes to witness the opening of my gift. Who’s a good kitty? I don’t know what’s wrong with me. Well, more wrong than usual.

I’m sorry you’re still sick. Cough, BE GONE.

HEY I DIDN’T KNOW IT WOULDN’T WORK, OKAY. Eh, the egalleys are from like March to August in publication, so it’s not that bad, and if I don’t get to them who cares, as they’re just egalleys.

What I actually said was “I’m hoping that I’m AN Ellis,” as in a person who likes the book.

I will be. THERE IS A BABY ON THAT COVER.

Bahaha, Percy did come for The Falconer. Maybe he wanted to eat the birdy?

  2. Nice haul. You have some amazing friends. Lots of great books. Heard good things about Something like Normal. A lot of buzz regarding The Falconer. Come check out my stack as well.

  3. S&S WHITELISTED YOU?! Duuuude. That’s amazing! Now I’m jealous because I keep emailing my publicist to warn her I’m going to request something so she can make sure I get approved. It’s a pain in the butt process whitelisting would solve. (Too bad I’m too much of a coward to ask. Publishing peoples scare me because I consider them authority figures and I am terrified of authority figures.)

Jennifer Echols books are always awful. Fact. If/When you read it and start suffering, you know I’m going to laugh at you a lot. Also, please be an Ellis/a me when it comes to Ink is Thicker Than Water. Pretty pleeeeease?

Night Film DOES look interesting, doesn’t it? It’s one of the only adult books on my TBR now and I really like staring at its shininess. I’m hoping to read it over the holidays so I have one less thick-as-all-get-out book to haul back to college.

Agreed, Bekka is the best. <3 She got me Also Known As and I keep touching it. But yep, BABIES. She will inflict babies upon you for your own bookish good.

THE FALCONER FOR EVERYONE! I need to read that ASAP too. Dammit, books. Why are there so many of you between me and The Falconer? D:

Trish IS the best. You can't even know. I meant to get a signed book from her for you for Christmas (all the prepositions!), but I didn't manage to get it done before I had to go back home.

Awwww, Percy. <3 Shadow isn't a grumpy cat at Christmas, but she DOES try and eat every single bow in sight because she is a bad little fluffernutter. She also murders tree skirts as a hobby.

Don’t give up on your vlogs because I miss them. I don’t care if video & sound don’t sync. I do miss seeing the covers though because I am a cover-lover. So jealous of Split Second, can’t wait to read it! What’s Perceus getting for Christmas?

  5. I haven’t actually read A Stranger Thing yet; I’m actually a little nervous about it. Pregnancy is one thing, but a baby is kind of where I draw the line. I hope we both like it though, and that it’s as funny as the first book.

I think I said this before but I reallllly loved my one experience reading Terra Elan McVoy. I read Being Friends with Boys and totally adored it. I’ll be interested to see if all her books are as wonderful.

Congrats on being whitelisted by S&S! I’m drooling over all the amazing titles you grabbed from them. I hope they’re awesome and that you’re able to make time for them all! Especially Killer Instinct, which looks SO GOOD.

I really want to read LETTERS TO NOWHERE! I am so curious about what you think! Please keep me updated with that one <3

And I'm glad you liked your present! You introduced me to Trish Doller, so I'm happy to have gotten it for you! <3

I propose we have a BURN BRIGHT read-along. Yup.

  7. I really need to get started in Pivot Point. The series looks great! I did the same thing when I was auto-approved for Harper. Flights and Chimes and Mysterious Times has a gorgeous cover 🙂 Happy reading and get well soon!

Ahhh, I didn’t know you were sicky! I hope you’re feeling all the way better soon, friend!

Look at all of your pretty books. Is it bad that I want to read Magnolia because it makes me think of Maggie? I mean, it sounds interesting, too, so there’s also that motive. haha

The Night Film cover is so cool!

Oooh, The Falconer looks cool, too!

I still need to read Trish Doller. What is my problem?!

    OMG, Percy is huge now.

I haven’t heard of most of these titles, so I’m eager to hear what you think of them 🙂

  9. Meg says:

SPLIT SECOOOOOND *flails self into wall* I heard a rumor that a certain amazing blogger may be sending me a copy soon. I’m sure twitter will tremble with the force of my excitement if this comes true.

Oooh, an Ink Is Thicker Than Water review off. Who will win? Ellis or Judith? I’m sorry Judith, but I hope Christina’s an Ellis, just because it’s always more fun to like books.

It is super cool that Jay Kristoff sent you a present. It is even cooler that he wrote you a note in it. And yes, I believe that is a bookplate. I’m not 100%, so perhaps keep asking around.

Fun fact, when you said Newsflesh and laughed a little, I wonder if it was because you suspected I would begin bouncing up and down squeaking NEWSFLESH! NEWSFLESH! when I watched this (which I DID.) That is also totally the reason I sent it to you, I saw it on your whilst and thought DUH. I have the first in her InCryptid series and also expect good things.

PLEASE LET NIGHT FILM BE AWESOME!! It looks so interesting. And pretty, really pretty.

(Is it weird that I am absurdly excited to watch you open presents?)

YOU HAVE THE FALCONER NOW YOU HAVE THE FALCONER NOW!!

    (Hi Percy!)

Oooooh! Something Like Normal! I just finished that. It was awesome. I will say more in my comment for that review.

Fun fact, Letters To Normal was that self pub I was talking about the other day. I like the premise, gymnastics are new and interesting to me. I am curious to see what you think.

MERRY CHRISTMAS TO YOU AND PERCY!!

  10. Ooohhh, you got some awesome books! I have an ARC of Split Second that I won, but I need to read Pivot Point first! I’ve heard both are amazing!

I love Kristi Cook!!! I kept going on Edelweiss to try and request it and I couldn’t find it for some reason.. Your vlog reminded me to try again and I FOUND IT! So I requested 🙂 Congrats on the auto-approval, by the way!

    Happy reading!

PS: I love your cat! He’s sooooo pretty!!!

  13. Yes, that was mine. 🙂 I love Piratica and her interesting rules, so I hope you like her, too. Merry Christmas!

  14. Jessie says:

Oooh, The Gods of Heavenly Punishment was a me review. I wonder how you’ll like it. There are some very odd scenes that I am curious to see how you will take. I feel pressured! I hope you can continue to trust me after this one 😉

I don’t even need to comment how jealous I am about Split Second because of course that’s just understood. Because that’s awesome. And that book sounds freaking amazing. That’s my vote for what you should read first out of this batch!

Can I say that I hate the new trend of hastags before a book title? Ockler’s done it, Gurtler has too. Let’s put a stop to this trend now.

The Last Stormdancer is good! I really liked it when I read it between the first and second novels. A fun little jaunt back into Shima.

I’d never heard of the Tanith Lee book but I definitely added that to my TBR as soon as you talked about it. That looks good — and unhyped!

  15. Aside from all of your very cool books, Percy is one huge kitty, isn’t he? (Not really a cat-person, but I’ve seen a few kitties from other bloggers that I actually like looking at. lol)

Great haul, and it’s so nice to have bookish friends send you bookish christmas goodies.
